Mike Kasesalk, foreign director of the Confucius Institute at Tallinn University in Estonia visited SUFE on October the 17th. Dean Sun of ICES, Vice Director Rong of IECO, Prof. Zhang from the School of Foreign Languages and Prof. Wang as well as Prof. Liu from ICES all attended the meeting.
Director Kasesalk gave a short introduction about the Confucius Institute, and then discussed several topics with the related teachers. Among the topics discussed were the academic communication opportunities between the two Universities, the current teaching system and duties of Chinese directors and teachers within the Confucius Institute. Also discussed were plans for groups to visit next year.
Tallinn University was founded in 2005 by Estonia's Ministry of Education, the Tallinn Government, and some educational institutions in the city. It is one of the biggest institutions of higher education in Estonia, and is located in the country's capital city. The Confucius Institute at Tallinn University was established in September 2010, and it remains the only such institute in Estonia.
